Changes to the Do Not Call Register

Monday 18 August 2008

The Do Not Call Register enables Australians to opt out of receiving unsolicited telemarketing calls. At present, only phone numbers used primarily for private or domestic purposes can be listed.

The Australian Government is currently seeking submissions on possible changes to the Do Not Call Register that may allow other numbers such as commercial business or fax numbers, to be listed.

The closing date for submissions is 12 September 2008. To read the discussion paper on these changes or submit your views online, visit the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy website.

To view other consultations your business may be interested in, visit the Business Consulation website.
