Overview
The Back to Work Scheme provides employers with funding to hire and train eligible employees.
Employers must employ an eligible unemployed person living in the Latrobe Valley or a retrenched worker from the Hazelwood Power Station.
Employers may claim up to:
- $5000 per unemployed person living in the Latrobe Valley they employ
- $5000 per retrenched Hazelwood Power Station worker they employ
An additional amount of up to $4000 is available to employers who provide accredited training to these eligible employees.
Check if you can apply
To be eligible, you must:
- have a good workplace safety record
- employ an eligible employee sometime between 1 January 2017 and 30 June 2020
- make a claim within nine months of the employment start date
